What personal data we handle

Enquiry messages. When you contact us by email, WhatsApp, Telegram or telephone, we receive the contact details you use (name, email address, phone number or messaging username) and whatever you tell us about the items you want to buy or sell — including photographs you choose to send.
Sale records. If a purchase or sale goes ahead, we keep the details needed to complete it and to meet our tax and accounting obligations.
Hosting logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information when pages are served (such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested). We do not use these logs to identify or profile visitors.

This website does not use analytics, advertising pixels or cookies, and we do not run marketing mailing lists. See our cookies information.

Messaging services (WhatsApp and Telegram)

When you click a WhatsApp or Telegram link on this site, you leave our website and open that third-party service. From that point, WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) or Telegram processes your data under its own privacy policy, which may involve processing outside the UK. We link out to these services rather than embedding them, so nothing is shared with them until you choose to click.

Who we share data with

Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its server logs.
The messaging or email services you choose to contact us through.
Professional advisers, insurers, HMRC or law enforcement, only where the law requires or permits it.

We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

Your messages to us on WhatsApp or Telegram may be processed by those providers outside the UK, under their own terms and safeguards. Our own records are handled in the UK. If we ever need to transfer your data internationally ourselves, we will only do so with the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep data

We keep enquiry conversations for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any sale or purchase that follows. Transaction records are kept for the periods required by tax and accounting law. We review what we hold and delete what we no longer need.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and — where processing is based on contract or consent — provide it in a portable format. Contact us using the details above and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you’re unhappy about how we handle your data, please tell us first: email sales@rarestate.co.uk or call 07983 678345. We will acknowledge data protection complaints within 30 days, investigate and tell you the outcome.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator: ico.org.uk, telephone 0303 123 1113.
